Survey Practice Handbook
This document is out of date and is being reviewed.
As a historical reference document, some sections provide accurate and current information on land and land transactions.
The Survey Practice Handbook is a reference work, in three volumes,
which provides best-practice guidance for the land surveying industry.
It contains a broad spectrum of material, including information on
legislation and surveying practice, in order to improve the quality
and compatibility of surveying procedures and practice in Victoria.
The Survey Practice Handbook was compiled by the previous Surveyors Board in collaboration
with the Institution of Surveyors Victoria to provide practice guidelines
and standards for plan preparation and surveying procedures, law
and administration.
The handbook contains guidance on the various
Acts and regulations that relate to the practice of surveying and
the subdivision of land, such as the standards and content for
plans and documents under the Subdivision Act 1988. The handbook
also provides
other information on matters relating to surveying generally that
the Board considers to be of value to licensed surveyors.
Please note the "Update History" column for each section
of the Handbook. This indicates the most recent review date.
