Entering a Professional Training Agreement
To enter into a Professional Training Agreement (PTA) a graduate
surveyor, in conjunction with his/her Supervising Surveyor,
must prepare and submit the PTA document to the Board for
assessment and approval. The Board considers all PTA applications in accordance with its Policy for Approval of Professional Training Agreements.
The competency modules outlining the training requirements
for a graduate surveyor are to be completed and countersigned
by both the Supervising Surveyor and the graduate surveyor,
outlining the graduate surveyor's progress in each of the
competencies.

Exemptions
The Professional Training Agreement requires 360 days of
supervised training. This includes a minimum of 240 cadastral training days and 120 non-cadstral training days. Supervised training days undertaken
prior to commencement of the Professional Training Agreement
(PTA) may be used to claim exemptions from some training days.
Applications for exemptions may be lodged only on completion
of all surveys / projects within the Professional Training
Agreement. Refer to the Guidelines for PTA's for more information
and specific requirements.
Pre-requisites
The graduate surveyor is required to have completed an approved
course of study.
