Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria

Entering a Professional Training Agreement

To enter into a Professional Training Agreement (PTA) a graduate surveyor, in conjunction with his/her Supervising Surveyor, must prepare and submit the PTA document to the Board for assessment and approval.  The Board considers all PTA applications in accordance with its Policy for Approval of Professional Training Agreements.

The competency modules outlining the training requirements for a graduate surveyor are to be completed and countersigned by both the Supervising Surveyor and the graduate surveyor, outlining the graduate surveyor's progress in each of the competencies.

You can lodge your PTA application on-line.

Exemptions

The Professional Training Agreement requires 360 days of supervised training.  This includes a minimum of 240 cadastral training days and 120 non-cadstral training days.   Supervised training days undertaken prior to commencement of the Professional Training Agreement (PTA) may be used to claim exemptions from some training days.

Applications for exemptions may be lodged only on completion of all surveys / projects within the Professional Training Agreement. Refer to the Guidelines for PTA's for more information and specific requirements.
