Professional Training Agreements (PTAs) provide a mechanism
to enable a person to progress to registration as a Licensed Surveyor
in Victoria. Agreements were adopted by the Council of Reciprocating
Surveyors Boards of Australia and New Zealand in November 1996.
The purpose of the Agreement is to provide a structured training
program to assist a graduate surveyor with the overall continuing
education, training and development of skills. This includes a suitable
program of technical and professional activities to develop a competent
professional surveyor.
The Agreement includes competency modules which
outline the training requirements required. These modules develop
competency in the areas
of:
- Generic Skills
- Boundary Definition Surveys
- Development Planning
- Engineering Surveying
- Professional Practice Management.
Graduate
surveyors need a Licensed Surveyor to be their Supervising Surveyor for the duration of the Agreement.
